3-d hologram
is creating hologram possible?
i’m talking about a 3-D Hologram projected using lasers, lenses, etc. Not those hologram stickers or whatsoever. Thanks!
Those hologram stickers are as real as it gets, though there are some much more impressive examples out there. Dynamic computer controlled holograms like we see in the movies don’t really exist. Also, a hologram is not really even a projection. It’s essentially a photograph taken in such a way to capture the interference of light reflected off objects. This gives the effect (only when looking into the medium it’s stored on, not above it) to recreate an image of the object from the corrrect angle. With 2 eyes looking from slightly different angles we see an illusion of a 3D object that it not really there. So holograms like we see in the movies don’t exist. Even the “CNN hologram” wasn’t a hologram, they just lied and said it was.
You can make them on your own though. You need a laser, lenses, mirrors, holographic plates(the film) and an optical table which you can build yourself. There’s a few links below.

Hologram – For The Perfect Package
There is no uncertainty about the fact that packaging has a direct impact on sales. An attractive packaging can definitely influence consumer’s perception of the product and build brand recognition. There is again no doubt about the fact that incorporating holography onto package design is a wonderful way to make your package look striking and genuine, thereby increasing sales. The question arise here is whether incorporating holograms on package is expensive or not.
It is true that holography increases the overall cost of producing a package but this cost is offset by the additional sales of that product. The use of holograms in the package makes your product look more interesting to the customer with its added dimension of uniqueness. This is the reason why products like Security Label, Roll label have become quite common. Hologram basically becomes a secured product, which in turn leads to brand promotion. The use of holograms on any package dished up a multipurpose task of brand promotion, brand protection, security with increased sales.
Holograms are created with photographic projection. There are different types of holograms as 2d & 3d holograms termed as Security Label, Roll label etc. These holograms are truly three-dimensional with free-standing image that does not simulate spatial depth or necessitate a special viewing device.
There are different names by which the holograms are classified for example reflection hologram, transmission hologram and embossed hologram etc. The reflection holograms are viewed when lit from the face, while transmission hologram can be seen by unblemished glow through it from the back side. There are embossed holograms which are finished by backing a transmission hologram with a mirror-like substance, letting it to be viewed when lit from the face. Even though a hologram is a image of a physical thing, it is quite different from a photograph. For example, when an object is photographed, each section of the photo encloses an image of the corresponding portion of the original object. Each section of a hologram, nevertheless, contains a full image of the original object, viewed from a vantage point corresponding to the section’s position on the hologram.
Thus, if the transparent plate containing a transmission hologram is wrecked, each part will still be able to project the full image, notwithstanding from a different point of view. Using a piece from near the top of the holographic plate will produce an image as seen from above, whereas using a piece from near the bottom of the plate will generate the sense of looking aloft toward the object.
